What should have been a fun adventure rapidly leads her down paths she will regret.
The main characters in Fern Michaels’ Fearless are well-developed, and the plot is interesting. I liked the Lubbock, Texas, setting and touring Anna’s large suite on the cruise ship and her expansive gated home with vlogging studio.I enjoyed the mix of romance with mystery. When I had to put the book away, I was always eager to return. Fearless includes criminal activities that require the characters and the reader to puzzle out events, identities, and motivations. The resolution of this story is disappointing. It is too rushed without enough explanation of the characters’ motivations many of which reach way back in time and others that are current. For example, there are two instances of the use of a date-rape drug. The usage is clear, but the motivation of the second attempt is unclear. This hurried ending resulted in less enjoyment for me. I will try another book by this prolific author in the future for comparative analysis.

How is her sisterhood series? I see it on Amazon but there are so many in that series I never know which to get. Have you read them?

I used to read the Sisterhood series and enjoyed it, but after awhile it changed. I don’t like where she took the characters, they are rude and obnoxious to one another (I don’t talk to my friends that way) so I stopped reading them. The first few in the series were quite good, Shalini.

I have never read this well known author and was intrigued at first but if the end was disappointing, my interest is waning…I will be interested in your next review of another of her books to compare. Thanks Linda!

Nice, honest review Linda. I find her earlier books were much better than her more recent ones. I don’t like the way she has her characters talk to each other and they are rude quite often. This one sounds much better, but too bad the ending was off.

I really like the sound of this one, even with a couple of reservations. Maybe it’s the idea of a cruise right now which in any other year would seem normal? Or maybe it’s all those bluebonnets! It almost makes me wish winter wasn’t coming, taking out some of the gorgeous flowers we’ve had this year … almost. Plus the rib rub recipe definitely has my attention. Wonderful review, as always.
