While some temperatures in August are roasting hot, we are cool (70’s F) in northern New Mexico. Here are a few photos from one of my favorite activities–an early morning walk with my dog. It is so beautiful and so peaceful.

So beautiful, Linda. We were cool this week, which worked perfectly for VBS. I hope it warms up so I can get back in the pool soon. It is only going up to 73 today. Your dog is a cutie. He’s looking at you so adoringly.

I have to laugh at your comment. Lucy used to have a habit, especially in the suburbs where kids drop food all the time on their way to the bus stop, of trying to search out bits of candy and chips–even a desiccated frog or chicken bones. So I keep her attention on me by giving her bits of “treats” along the way. I thought it was crazy when my daughter first shared this tip with me because it is not reinforcing a particular behavior, but it does cause her to look at me adoringly when she decides she has done something worthy–in this case she waited nicely while I snapped the picture.😉
